A delightful Savory Croissant Bake filled with buttery croissants, smoky ham, and melted Swiss cheese, perfect for brunch gatherings.

- 6 day-old croissants, sliced in half
- 2 cups thick cut smoky ham, sliced
- 2 cups grated Swiss cheese (or Gruyère)
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs (thym or chives) for seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease your baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
- Layer half of the croissant halves in the bottom of your dish.
- Spread the ham evenly over the croissants, followed by grated Swiss cheese.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, and seasonings. Pour this mixture over the layered ingredients.
- Top with the remaining croissant halves and any leftover cheese. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until puffed and golden. A knife should come out clean when inserted into the center.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving, and garnish with fresh herbs.
Notes
Use slightly stale croissants for optimal texture. For a lighter version, pair with a side salad.
