Description
Delightful Oreo Macarons blend nostalgia and whimsy in each tiny bite, echoing the flavors of classic Oreos with a rich filling.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 3 egg whites (room temperature)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies
- 1/2 cup softened butter (for filling)
- 1/2 cup additional powdered sugar (for filling)
- Milk (as needed for filling consistency)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Sift together the almond flour, powdered sugar, and cocoa powder in a large bowl.
- Whip the egg whites in a separate bowl until fluffy. Gradually add granulated sugar and continue to whip until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the dry mixture into the egg whites until you achieve a silky consistency.
- Transfer the batter to a piping bag and pipe small circles onto the baking sheets, leaving space in between.
- Allow to rest for at least 30 minutes until a skin forms on the surface.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes until the macarons lift easily off the parchment paper. Let cool completely.
- For the filling, beat softened butter, crushed Oreo cookies, and powdered sugar until fluffy, adding milk as needed for consistency.
- Pipe the filling onto one macaron shell and sandwich it with another. Repeat with remaining shells.
- Let the assembled macarons rest in the fridge for a few hours before serving.
Notes
