Description

Delicious chocolate cherry bites that encapsulate holiday nostalgia and sweetness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups dark chocolate (or semi-sweet)
  • 1 cup dried cherries (or fresh)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add chopped nuts, dried cherries, and vanilla extract to the mixture and mix well.
  3. Roll small amounts of the filling into bite-sized balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze for 30 minutes.
  4. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler over simmering water, stirring gently until smooth.
  5. Dip each frozen ball into the melted chocolate, letting excess chocolate drip off before placing them back on parchment paper.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator until the chocolate coating hardens, about 1 hour.
  7. Serve at room temperature.

Notes

For a lower-sugar option, use a sugar substitute. Ensure chocolate is suitable for melting to avoid seizing.
