Description
Delicious chocolate cherry bites that encapsulate holiday nostalgia and sweetness.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups dark chocolate (or semi-sweet)
- 1 cup dried cherries (or fresh)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Add chopped nuts, dried cherries, and vanilla extract to the mixture and mix well.
- Roll small amounts of the filling into bite-sized balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze for 30 minutes.
- Melt the chocolate in a double boiler over simmering water, stirring gently until smooth.
- Dip each frozen ball into the melted chocolate, letting excess chocolate drip off before placing them back on parchment paper.
- Chill in the refrigerator until the chocolate coating hardens, about 1 hour.
- Serve at room temperature.
Notes
For a lower-sugar option, use a sugar substitute. Ensure chocolate is suitable for melting to avoid seizing.
