- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold and diced)

- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, toss together the sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. Let sit for 10-15 minutes.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk until just combined.
- Grease a baking dish and pour in the apple mixture. Drop spoonfuls of the topping over the apples.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Cool for 10 minutes before serving. Optionally serve with vanilla ice cream.
