Description

A hearty and flavorful nacho skillet featuring ground turkey, crunchy tortilla chips, and melted cheese, perfect for game days and family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 bag thick-cut tortilla chips
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 can black or pinto beans, drained
  • Fresh cilantro, for topping
  • Diced tomatoes, for topping
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • Jalapeños, for topping
  • Sour cream, for serving
  • Lime crema (sour cream mixed with lime juice and zest), for drizzling

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground turkey, breaking it up with a spatula and allowing it to brown evenly, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Stir in the cumin, smoked paprika, and garlic powder, mixing well to infuse the spices into the meat.
  3. Add the drained beans to the skillet and stir to combine.
  4. Create a base layer in the skillet with the tortilla chips, spreading them evenly on top of the turkey mixture.
  5. Sprinkle a mound of shredded cheese over the nachos.
  6. Transfer the skillet to a preheated broiler and cook until the cheese is bubbling and golden, around 3-5 minutes.
  7. Once out of the oven, top the nachos with diced tomatoes, sliced jalapeños, fresh cilantro, and avocado slices. Drizzle with lime crema.
  8. Serve immediately while still hot and bubbly.

Notes

For added depth, consider finishing your nachos with a sprinkling of lime juice.
