Description
A delightful layered dessert featuring fresh mixed berries and a creamy white chocolate custard, perfect for holiday celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups Fresh Mixed Berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries)
- 8 oz White Chocolate (preferably high-quality)
- 1 cup Heavy Cream
- 4 Egg Yolks
- 3/4 cup Sugar
- 2 tbsp Cornstarch
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 package Ladyfinger Biscuits
- 1 cup Milk
Instructions
- Prepare the White Chocolate Custard: Heat the milk in a saucepan until steaming but not boiling. In a separate bowl, whisk together egg yolks, sugar, and cornstarch. Gradually pour in the hot milk while whisking continuously, then return the mixture to the saucepan. Cook over medium heat until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in melted white chocolate and vanilla extract. Allow this custard to cool.
- Assemble the Trifle: In a large glass bowl, layer the ladyfinger biscuits at the bottom, soaking them briefly in milk for added moisture. Next, add a layer of mixed berries, followed by a generous layer of white chocolate custard. Repeat these layers until you have filled the bowl, finishing with a custard layer on top.
- Chill and Serve: Cover the trifle with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least four hours, or preferably overnight. When you’re ready to serve, garnish with additional fresh berries and perhaps a sprinkle of grated white chocolate.
Notes
Allow the custard to cool completely before layering to maintain the texture of the ladyfingers. Overnight chilling is recommended for best flavor.
