- ½ cup softened butter
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs

- ½ cup peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the milk and peanut butter.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low until just combined.
- Divide the batter between the prepared pans and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
- For the frosting, beat together the peanut butter, softened butter, and powdered sugar, adding milk as needed for consistency.
- Spread frosting between the cooled cake layers and cover the entire cake with frosting. Optionally, decorate with chocolate chips or crushed peanuts.
