Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour and salt, then gradually add to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Cover the dough with plastic wrap and chill it for about 30 minutes.
- Shape small pieces of dough into slender fingers and use a knife to create knuckle details.
- Press an almond onto the tip of each finger.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow to cool completely, then use red decorating gel or jam to add ‘blood’ around the almond fingernails.
- Serve and enjoy!
Notes
Consider nut substitutions if needed. Chill the dough to achieve the best shape and texture.
