Ingredients

- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Mini marshmallows (for teeth)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract and combine until smooth.
- In another bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, blending until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop the dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes; the edges should be firm and centers soft.
- Cool the cookies; cut marshmallows in half for ‘teeth’.
- Place marshmallow halves on each cookie to create ‘teeth’. Optionally use red gel icing for effect.
Notes
For a dairy-free option, substitute butter with coconut oil. Gluten-free flour can be used as an alternative.
