- 6–8 fresh peaches, sliced and pitted
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- ½ cup full-fat milk
- ½ cup melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and prepare an 8×8 inch oven-proof dish.
- Wash and slice the peaches, then combine them with half of the sugar in a mixing bowl. Let sit for a few minutes.
- In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, the remaining sugar, and salt. Whisk in milk slowly until smooth.
- Gently fold in the melted butter until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared dish, smoothing into an even layer. Spoon the peach mixture on top, ensuring even distribution of juices.
- Bake for 30–40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
