Easy Five-Cheese Baked Ziti

A comforting blend of pasta and five cheeses, perfect for gatherings and family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz ziti or penne pasta
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup Gruyère cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup provolone cheese, grated
  • 3 cups tomato sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Fresh herbs (basil, parsley, etc.)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ricotta, half of the mozzarella, half of the Parmesan, garlic, salt, pepper, and fresh herbs.
  4. Spread a layer of tomato sauce in a baking dish. Add half of the cooked pasta, half of the cheese mixture, and more sauce. Repeat, finishing with pasta topped with remaining sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes, then uncover and bake for another 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  6. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Feel free to add sautéed mushrooms or other vegetables for extra flavor.
