Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 large russet potatoes, sliced into thin rounds
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Peel and slice the potatoes, chop the onion, and mince the garlic.
  2. Brown the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and drain excess grease.
  3. Layer In Your Crock Pot: Layer half of the potatoes, the beef, onion, and garlic in the slow cooker; season as you go. Repeat the layers.
  4. Pour the Soup: Spoon the cream of mushroom soup over the layers, ensuring even distribution.
  5. Add Cheese: Sprinkle cheese on top.
  6. Set the Slow Cooker: Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until potatoes are tender.

Notes

For a healthier version, use lean ground beef or turkey and add more vegetables. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days.
