Ingredients

- Pizza dough or homemade breadsticks
- Fresh spinach (or frozen)
- Cream cheese
- Shredded mozzarella
- Minced garlic
- Pinch of nutmeg (optional)
- Parmesan cheese
- Thyme
- Italian herb mix (optional)
- 1 egg for egg wash
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- In a skillet, sauté minced garlic until fragrant, then add spinach and cook until wilted.
- Transfer spinach to a bowl and mix in cream cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan, and spices. Adjust seasoning as needed.
- Roll out dough on a floured surface and cut into triangles about 1/4 inch thick.
- Place a tablespoon of the spinach mixture at the wide end of each triangle, roll towards the point and seal edges.
- Arrange rolled breadsticks into tree shapes, brushing with egg wash and adding extra cheese/herbs if desired.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Let cool before serving.
Notes
These breadsticks freeze well; prepare and freeze before baking for up to 3 months.
