Description

Delicious breadsticks shaped like a Christmas tree, filled with creamy spinach dip, perfect for holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

Scale
  • Pizza dough or homemade breadsticks
  • Fresh spinach (or frozen)
  • Cream cheese
  • Shredded mozzarella
  • Minced garlic
  • Pinch of nutmeg (optional)
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Thyme
  • Italian herb mix (optional)
  • 1 egg for egg wash

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet, sauté minced garlic until fragrant, then add spinach and cook until wilted.
  3. Transfer spinach to a bowl and mix in cream cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan, and spices. Adjust seasoning as needed.
  4. Roll out dough on a floured surface and cut into triangles about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Place a tablespoon of the spinach mixture at the wide end of each triangle, roll towards the point and seal edges.
  6. Arrange rolled breadsticks into tree shapes, brushing with egg wash and adding extra cheese/herbs if desired.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Let cool before serving.

Notes

These breadsticks freeze well; prepare and freeze before baking for up to 3 months.
