- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Whisk together the dry ingredients in a bowl: flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually incorporate the dry mixture into the wet ingredients, folding gently until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 55-65 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a healthier twist, substitute some flour with whole wheat flour or use coconut oil instead of butter. To reduce sugar, use mashed ripe bananas.
