Description
A delicious and comforting stir-fry featuring crispy tofu and tender cabbage, perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 block firm tofu, pressed and cubed
- 1 medium green cabbage, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch piece of ginger, minced
- 2–3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1/2 cup vegetable broth
- Optional vegetables: bell peppers, carrots, snap peas
Instructions
- Press the tofu to remove excess water for about 15-20 minutes. Cut it into bite-sized cubes.
- In a bowl, combine tofu cubes with a splash of soy sauce and a dash of sesame oil. Let it marinate while you prepare your vegetables.
- Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add a drizzle of oil and let it heat up.
- Add the marinated tofu to the pan and sauté until golden brown on all sides (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add more oil if necessary. Toss in minced garlic and ginger, stirring until fragrant (1-2 minutes).
- Add chopped cabbage and any additional vegetables. Cook for 3-5 minutes until just tender.
- Add the tofu back into the pan, along with extra soy sauce and vegetable broth for moisture. Stir-fry everything together for another 2-3 minutes until well combined and heated through.
- Serve immediately, drizzled with sesame oil and garnish with sesame seeds or green onions if desired.
