Description
A delightful and shareable brownie dessert with a fudgy base and customizable toppings, perfect for gatherings or quiet evenings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 10 oz (280 g) dark chocolate (60–70% cocoa)
- 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cups (300 g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (100 g) brown sugar
- 4 large room-temperature eggs
- 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup (25 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- Pinch of salt
- 3/4 cup toasted chopped hazelnuts (optional)
- Dark chocolate chunks (optional)
- Flaky sea salt (for topping)
- Fresh raspberries or berries of choice (for serving)
- Whipped cream (for serving)
- Salted caramel (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 12-inch pizza pan or line it with parchment.
- Melt the dark chocolate and unsalted butter together in a heatproof bowl over simmering water, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Whisk the granulated and brown sugar together, then add the eggs one at a time, whisking firmly after each addition.
- Fold the melted chocolate-butter mixture into the eggs and sugar, then sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold until just combined.
- Pour the batter into your prepared pan, smoothing the top. If desired, sprinkle the top with hazelnuts or chocolate chunks.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes; the center should jiggle slightly when tapped. Bake 2–3 minutes longer for a chewier edge if preferred.
- Remove from the oven and cool. Serve warm with whipped cream, salted caramel, or fresh berries.
Notes
For a thinner, crispier pizza, spread the batter thinly and reduce the bake time. Reheat in a skillet for a molten center.
